I don't write many reviews, but in this case I simply wanted to warn the consumer. In all fairness, the unit is quiet, appears to clean dishes fairly well, and looks pretty on the outside. The reason I've given one star is due to the design of the racks, which is, in two words: amazingly horrible. Truly. Each and every time you load dishes (both upper and lower racks) is an exercise in frustration. Yes, some elements within the upper rack are adjustable, but adjustments make no difference. Our usage is quite normal, as are our dishes - nothing unusual. The racks simply can't hold very many dishes at all, and you'll find yourself spending an insane amount of time trying to fit the dishes you need to wash in there, trying out different approaches to have them fit.

I think Bosch makes solid products, I just don't know what they were thinking on the user portion of the design for this model.

This dishwasher was rated number 1 in the Consumer Reports in July 2012. It isn't as fancy as the higher priced models, but they list it as a best buy.
